Activities

• Rafting
  Since the mighty Merced River flows right nearby, rafting portions of the river at El Portal offers the outdoor lover some exciting adventures. There are Class III and IV whitewater rapids to brave.
• Hiking
  Just northeast of El Portal is the small town of Foresta. Hike an easy trail out and back to Foresta Falls. If you drive into Yosemite, you can start a terrific hike from Tunnel View to Inspiration Point. This 2.6-mile hike gives you picturesque views.

Getting Here

From El Portal, to enter Yosemite National Park, you simply follow California Highway 140 east towards Yosemite Valley.
