Lake Tulloch CA sits in the heart of the Gold Country, offering a location of choice for many family activities. Boating, fishing and camping are favorites at this lake. Yosemite Park is not far away, and you can visit nearby gold mining towns such as Sonora, Angels Camp and Jamestown.

Location & Information

Lake Tulloch California lies west of Yosemite National Park, off of Highway 120. Leaving Yosemite, follow Highway 120 to State Highway 108, going left and driving just a short distance to O’Byrnes Ferry Road. You’ll come to the lake after a short drive.

Lake Tulloch is accessible for activities all year.

Activities

Although Lake Tulloch is a small lake, there are a number of coves to explore, wonderful views and plenty to do to fill your days.

  • Fishing
    With 55 miles of shoreline, you will find plenty of Lake Tulloch fishing. Try your luck and catch some catfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and rainbow trout.
  • Boating
    You’ll discover a number of docks where you can launch your boat, and if you don’t have your own, you can rent a boat at one of the marinas. You can even have your boat with you at the campgrounds around the lake. Water skiing is popular here, too.
  • Swimming
    You’ll find swim beaches around Lake Tulloch where you can take a dip and cool off. The water is just the right temperature in the summer for a refreshing swim.
  • Camping
    Find RV and tent camping on the shores of Lake Tulloch. The amenities of the various campgrounds provide all you need, including hot showers, water, picnic tables and firepits.

Fun Facts

Lake Tulloch is named after Charles Tulloch, the man who converted a flourmill at Knights Ferry, California into a productive hydroelectric power plant.

Lake Tulloch is fed by the Stanislaus River in Tuolumne County, California.
