Location & Information
Pine Mountain Lake California can be reached from Yosemite National Park by taking California Highway 140 to California Highway 120. When you reach Ferretti Road, turn right and then right again on Pine Mountain Drive to the entrance gate.

Fun Facts
Groveland, where Pine Mountain Lake is located, was originally called First Garrote, the name coming from an earlier incident of the hanging of a man for stealing a horse. There are adobe buildings still standing that were built in 1849, when gold was discovered here.
