Two sections of Kings Canyon National Park will be a treasure of experiences for you as you visit this amazing area. The General Grant Grove has several groves of giant sequoia trees, including the General Grant Tree. The Redwood Mountain Grove has the largest sequoia grove remaining in the world. A true paradise of nature's beauty, this classic high Sierra.
There are tons of things to do here in the summer. You can enjoy many ranger-led programs and go on a Crystal Cave tour. You can take the road to Cedar Grove for some really beautiful sightseeing. Horseback riding is thrilling here with so much gorgeous scenery. Of course, you can try your hand at whitewater rafting on the Middle Fork River or go rock climbing.
You will find standard lodging in Tulare, Visalia, and Three Rivers, CA. There are also campgrounds in the park where you can camp among the trees. At higher elevations, although it's chilly, it's wonderful to camp by the giant sequoias.
