The excitement of Reno is a well-known attraction, along with the casinos and live entertainment. This town became what is known as "The Biggest Little City in the World." There's a lot to see and do here, even besides touring through the casinos and trying your hand at getting close to Lady Luck.
If arriving in Reno in August, you have to stop by a major summer event, Hot August Nights, a classic car rally held here every year. Street Vibrations is a motorcycle fan gathering and the streets vibrate with the hundreds upon hundreds of motorcycles cruising by. Cinco de Mayo celebrations can't be beat in Reno. Of course, at any time in the summer you can play outdoors by fishing, hiking, rafting and many other great sports.
There are so many options on lodging; it would be impossible to list them all. There are the standard motel chains and hotels, but also available are resort hotels and casinos, spa resorts and more. Also you will find a wide choice of camping and RV parks.
To get to Reno from Yosemite, take CA-140 to CA-120 (go right) and then US-395 north. Take exit 62 and arrive in exciting Reno.
